I found in Eddies lecture the "games Britannia" documentaries extremely useful. They showed us the history of games, what makes games great and theories on how games effect society and visa versa.
This weeks lecture was interesting. I was covered by Rob. We studied a film the had many game mechanics in. The film was "run lola run". To be honest it was a very strange film with a weird plot. It was a bit like "groundhog day" where the hero keeps living the same time over and over again. Which is like the player dying in a game. Plus the player has a super natural scream that breaks glass. The camera angles are very similar to a variety of games. Such as, top down, side view, over the sholder
Today i managed to get the majority of my design document completed. I used Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to create the game board. I currently have around 1200 words.
Yesterday i managed to hand in my design document assignment. I had to hand it into the waterfront building because even though I went at 11:20am the lady to submit to in the art building wasn't there.
