Q1: What was the last fiction book I read?
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I really find that J.K Rowling's style of writing really easy to follow and it captures me as I love magical fantasy.
Q2: What is the last non-fiction book I read?
The Art of Game Design. I found this book really useful. I helped me in multiple aspects for my course and brought them together.
Q3: What is the last live performance I saw?
Kiss Me Kate. This is a musical that my ex-girl friend was in. I was suppose to be performing in it but I pulled out as I was also performing in various other shows at the time.
Q4: What is the title of the last film I saw at the cinema?
About Time. This is an amazing film that I went to go and see in the cinema with my parents. It has so many elements in it and it still goes very well. There was: comedy, sadness, love and fantasy as the men can travel in time.
Q5: How often do I read the newspaper a week?
Zero. I do try to avoid reading the newspaper as I really find it depressing.
Q6: Which exhibition did I last visit?
Euro Gamer Exhibition 2013. This was good as I got to play on the new consoles and games coming out later this year. It has definitely cleared my thoughts on which console I think is better and really think PS4, even though I have been an Xbox 360 guy for ages.
Q7: How many hours a week do I play video games?
15hrs a week. My favorite genre is definitely RPG as there is a lot more going on and it has elements of strategy in it. This is why my dream would be to work for Ubisoft.
Q8: How many hours do I spend playing non-video games a week?
5hrs a week. There aren't many games I know that are non digital but have been learning them, especially the games in the labs. I do play card games with my mates like poker, but we only play for chips.
Hi Steve,
ReplyDeleteThe answers are so concise that they don't reveal much about you or your interests. Adding some detail -- what you thought of Schell's "lenses", for example, or what kind of video games / non-video games you are interested -- might make the post a bit more informative and more interesting to read. You could expand your responses by answering the questions with a couple of sentences, or maybe even three or four sentences if any of the questions provokes a particularly full answer.
Hi Steve, I see you've expanded your responses to add a bit more detail and character to the post. The revised entry is better as there's a bit more of "you" in there now.

Hi Steve,
ReplyDeleteThere haven't been any updates on your blog for four weeks now: remember that this forms part of the module assessment. You should be making regular posts on the topics we are covering in Critical Game Studies as well making posts about the readings for the project module.
Hi Steve,
ReplyDeleteTry to set aside some time to catch up on your blog and to post some meaningful entries related to the topics covered in the Intro Critical Games Studies module and your readings for the project module.
